A Few Stars, The World Karate Movies

Before the year 1970 Karate movies were very popular in Asia, where they had made for years, but that changed when the world Bruce Lee met. Enter the Dragon, which was published in 1973, Lee made a posthumous superstar, but the real star was introduced to martial arts.
The genre has taken the world by storm and introduced to the world a new kind of actor.
While most of the karate movie stars like Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Stephen Chow, Jet Li and Sammo Hung are of Asian descent, there are a few become known in America and Europe to get used to the genre.
Chuck Norris, a karate champion had played at the beginning of Bruce Lee movies, but in the late seventies and early eighties he was a superstar, thanks to the American karate movies. Today he is still a concept, Ranger, thanks to the TV show Walker, Texas.
Jean-Claude Van Damme rose to fame with films such as Bloodsport and Kickboxer and at one point had to compete with some of the blockbuster action stars like Stallone and Schwarzenegger. The Belgian world champion, but never quite get the popularity and in the late nineties, his films hardly picked up by film distributors.
Steven Seagal became famous in films like “Under Siege.
Although never quite get off B-movie star, Cynthia Rothrock has long been considered the leading female karate stars. She appeared in dozens of action films, many with his account of China O’Brien films for their own good.
He is better known to the public is now the host of Iron Chef, but Mark Dacascos another who rose to stardom through martial arts. His father was a martial arts teacher and it was in such films as Only The Strong, Double Dragon and Crying Freeman, he was noted for the first time.

There are many action-movie star who never quite made the mainstream cinema, but to be respected in the martial arts world, including artists such as Gary Hudson, Loren Avedon, Don “The Dragon” Wilson and Billy Blanks. A good example is Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank, who many may remember as the girl, Ralph Macchio in the Karate Kid movies successful.
